Fredensborg Library presents Christian's gifts

The municipal library of Fredensborg-Humlebæk officially presented its christening gifts for prince Christian: a membership card and the book "Godnat Magnus" by Karin Feit Almberg & Birde Poulsen.



Crown princess Mary & crown prince Frederik also received a wooden horse for their son. It was made by Finn Rune Nielsen and remains in the library building.

The Danish word for bookworm is "læsehest", literally: reading horse. Mary spontaneously remarked "A læsehest!" when they unveiled the wooden horse.



Mary's lady-in-waiting Caroline Heering was also present.




Carl Gustav turns 60: gala night

A gala concluded the 60th birthday celebrations for king Carl Gustav of Sweden.

The royal guests had a dinner & dance at the royal palace in Stockholm.

In absence of Frederik, Mary was excorted by prince Nikolaos of Greece (her cousin-in-law) and crown prince (now king) Willem-Alexander of Holland.

A beautiful group photo of the younger generation was made.


Two of these royal couples have become king & queen in the meantime: Willem-Alexander & Máxima of Holland, and Philippe & Mathilde of the Belgians.

Carl Gustav turns 60: state luncheon

King Carl Gustav's many birthday guests joined the Swedish royal family for a state luncheon held at Stockholm's city hall.

Mary accompanied her father-in-law again.




Mary was wearing new diamond and pearl earrings from Marianne Dulong.


Her new red dress was by Prada.
